ISLAMABAD: Following the ineligibility of Shahbaz Sharif, the Election Commission of Pakistan has declared vacant his provincial assembly seat from Bhakkar.
Sources said that after the Supreme Court’s verdict of Sharif Brothers’ ineligibility, the Election Commission has issued a notification by declaring vacant the Shahbaz Sharif’s Punjab Assembly seat PP-48 seat from Bhakkar.
Meanwhile, the schedule issued for the bye-elections in the constituency of the National Assembly NA-123 has also been taken back.
This may be recalled that Mian Nawaz Sharif had to contest the bye-election in the said constituency but after the verdict of his ineligibility, it was decided to nominate Begum Kulsoom Nawaz for contesting the election in this constituency.
